Job Summary

Clinic Co‑ordinator for the Bowel Screening Wales team based at Withybush General Hospital. Part‑time 20 hours per week, permanent. Some home working may be required.

About the role

Bowel Screening Wales is experiencing significant change and expansion. The role supports screening practitioners with administrative duties related to screening assessments and booking of colonoscopy lists, including accessing medical notes, populating practitioner diaries, liaising with Bowel Screening headquarters, and communicating across hospital sites.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinate appointments for patients who test positive for bowel screening.
  • Manage administrative tasks for screening assessments and colonoscopy bookings.
  • Access and enter data into the relevant screening database and hospital systems.
  • Communicate with Bowel Screening headquarters and other hospital sites.
  • Assist with routine administrative support for screening practitioners.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NHS and screening services.
Person Specification

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification plus relevant practical experience.
  • Knowledge of NHS and Screening Services, health promotion theories, and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in full range of administrative systems, preferably within NHS.
  • Experience of administration and clinic processes.
  • Ability to work flexibly around service needs.

Desirable

  • Experience in gastroenterology, cancer, or oncology services.
  • Welsh speaker (Level 1).
