Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and organised individual to join our team as a full‑time Cleddau Bridge Coordinator. This crucial role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the Bridge Office, including managing the Emergency Out‑of‑Hours telephone service and providing essential administrative support to various departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling and assessing emergency calls, coordinating appropriate responses, or escalating to duty officers as required.
  • Monitoring the bridges wind system and implementing full or partial closures in line with safety protocols.
  • Liaising with emergency services to manage incidents on the bridge.
  • Monitoring CCTV systems and supporting safety procedures, including confined space operations and lone worker logging.
  • Conducting routine testing of critical systems such as road closure and flooding signage and backup power supplies.
  • Providing administrative support, including financial processing and maintaining service records.

The role involves working a 12‑hour rolling shift pattern, including both day and night shifts, with rostered Bank Holidays. An allowance is provided for shifts without dedicated meal breaks.

Generally shift pattern is two consecutive 7pm to 7am shifts, followed by two 7am to 7pm shifts and then five rest days.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, IT proficiency (including Microsoft Office), and the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

We offer a structured annual working schedule, averaging 37 hours per week, distributed throughout the year to align with our sophisticated shift patterns.

If you are a proactive problem‑solver looking for a challenging and rewarding role, we would love to hear from you.
