Job description

Are you passionate about Teaching and Learning and dedicated to making a positive impact on Children’s lives?

The team at Beverley Minster Church of England Primary School are looking to appoint a part-time classroom teacher to work in EYFS, who will play a pivotal role in inspiring the next generation of young learners.

Starting as soon as possible, the role is working two days per week, and will be paid on TEAL’s qualified teachers pay scale (points 1 to 9).

Please note, this role is fixed term until 31 August 2026.

Why choose us?

Beverley Minster aims to create a safe, supportive environment where everyone is given the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We believe that learning should be exciting. We also recognise that learning may be hard work that needs persistence and determination but children should be provided with the tools they need to progress regardless of starting point or background.

Our school is a welcoming community where our distinctive Christian ethos promotes a safe, happy, healthy and nurturing environment. Together, we empower children with the confidence, independence and resilience to become life‑long learners and to play a positive role in their community.

Within The Education Alliance Multi Academy Trust, there are lots of opportunities for collaboration and also further opportunities to develop and progress. As a trust, we are here to make great schools and happier, stronger communities so that people have better lives. For too long in many schools, staff have been asked to choose between being seen as good at their job and being a good mum, dad, partner, son, daughter or friend. We are doing everything we can to support our staff to balance the demands of their jobs and those at home.

To support this, we:
  • Trust our staff to plan, prepare and assess at the best time for them, allowing them to go off‑site in their PPA
  • Have centralised our Behaviour Policy so teachers are freed up from supervising detentions
  • Demand ethical leadership built on professional trust
  • Reject fads and ensure our CPD is evidence‑informed and predominantly subject specific
  • Have reduced data collections to twice yearly
  • Do not expect staff to respond to emails outside normal working hours
  • Do not deploy staff at other Trust schools unless it is at their request
We have removed the following:
  • Performance management objectives and performance‑related pay
  • Lesson observations and high stakes, toxic accountability
  • Requirements for daily or weekly lesson plans

Above all, we recognise that seeking to remove the number of tasks staff undertake will have little effect on improving work/home balance if this happens within a toxic culture. To support this, we offer training for our leaders to ensure they are able to translate our values into behaviours which are built on the principles of dignity, respect, professionalism and integrity.

What can we offer you?
  • Ethical leadership, professional trust and autonomy and a caring ethos in which everyone is valued and respected.
  • A great programme of CPDand opportunities to collaborate with other teaching professionals across TEAL.
  • Family friendlypolicies and opportunities for flexible working
  • Well‑being supportincluding discounted East Riding gym membership; free annual flu vaccinations; refund of the cost of the annual NHS prescription prepayment certificate; access to a free employee assistance scheme 24/7 with advice on a wide range of practical issues ranging from legal information and consumer issues to specialist counselling.
  • Access to our staff benefits platformwhich includes big brand discounts and other financial incentives including a cycle to work scheme offering discounted bike purchases
  • Membership of theTeachers’ Pension Scheme.
