The Role:

At The Caledonian Edinburgh, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service, elegance, and an unforgettable experience for our guests. As a Food & Beverage Operative, you will be a key member of our team, ensuring that our service standards meet the highest expectations.

Your role will involve supporting various areas of food and beverage service, including the Bar, Restaurant, Breakfast, Room Service, and Conference & Events, contributing to the smooth running of each outlet and ensuring a seamless, memorable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Interaction & Service: As the face of the Food & Beverage outlet, you will warmly welcome guests, engage with them courteously, and attend to their needs with professionalism and care.
  • Operational Support: Efficiently support the team across all service areas, from bar to restaurant and beyond, ensuring the seamless delivery of food and beverages to our guests.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Respond promptly and efficiently to customer queries and requests, taking ownership of any concerns or complaints with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
  • Communication: Maintain an open line of communication with both the kitchen and guests, ensuring clear and concise information exchange to guarantee smooth service delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively within a dynamic team, ensuring a positive and cooperative work environment. Assist colleagues in delivering exceptional customer service, especially during high‑demand periods.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the hotel's offerings, including food, beverage, and facilities, in order to provide guests with informed recommendations and details.
  • Time & Task Management: Demonstrate strong organisational skills by managing multiple tasks and working under pressure without compromising on quality or service standards.
