Overview

CASS Safeguarding Technical Assurance Specialist – Grant Thornton UK

As a member of the team, you will help develop a high-priority service, embedding quality within the firm’s culture and delivering a high-quality service for clients. You will work closely with audit teams and the technical senior team, applying technical skills and building relationships to deliver messages constructively and confidently. You may also split the role between technical specialist work and managing CASS and safeguarding audits.

Responsibilities
  • Challenge the execution of audit procedures and documentation of audit work in regulatory areas.
  • Support and coach teams to implement identified improvements in audit quality, specifically related to CASS, safeguarding and other regulatory assurance engagements.
  • Identify issues and matters requiring firm-wide action and contribute to ad-hoc projects to improve audit quality and risk management.
  • Collaborate with audit teams and senior technical staff to deliver high-quality outcomes and effective risk management.
Minimum Criteria
  • Experience in audit and/or audit quality control
  • Experience of CASS and safeguarding audits with a sound understanding of CASS rules
  • Good understanding of FCA regulation across financial services sectors
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate large amounts of information, identify what is important, and maintain high-quality standards
  • High motivation and passion for audit quality with a drive to seek improvements
  • Willingness to work flexibly as part of a close-knit team and as a self-directed individual
Skills To Set You Apart
  • Hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CA or ACCA)
  • Experience in a technical role within a professional services environment
  • Clear communication skills to articulate technical concepts
  • Ability to work with a client base across a broad range of sectors
  • Creative thinking to identify ways to improve audit quality
  • Teamwork and collaboration to develop solutions for complex questions
  • Strong IT skills including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
