A regional healthcare trust is seeking a Care Group Medical Director to lead the medical workforce and ensure high-quality clinical services. The ideal candidate will have full GMC registration, extensive experience in Clinical Psychiatry, and proven leadership skills. In conjunction with the Care Group Nurse Director, this postholder will contribute to creating a positive safety culture, where the environment is collaboratively crafted, created, and nurtured so that everybody (individual staff, teams, patients, service users, families, and carers) can flourish to ensure brilliant, safe care by:
The postholder will lead and manage the medical workforce within the Care Group.
It is expected that the successful candidate will become a medical appraiser within their first year in post if they are not already.
The postholder will work in collaboration with other Clinical Directors within the Care Group to support the delivery of a robust quality governance framework, as part of the collective leadership team supporting the delivery of effective, safe, and high-quality care delivery to patients, carers and their families.
The postholder will contribute to the strategic direction for safe and high-quality services; this will include the development and delivery of key actions within the Trust Strategy and other relevant clinical plans.
The postholder will be accountable to the Trust’s Deputy Medical Director in relation to the leadership and management of safe medical staffing and caseloads oversight across the services, escalating concerns and offering solutions where possible.
