Up to £46,750.00 depending on experience

37.5 hours per week - we are unable to offer part time hours

This is a great opportunity to join Britain’s largest Healthcare Charity and help us build a healthier nation. As you know, Oncology nursing is challenging and rewarding – and your passion will make all the difference to our cancer patients. You’ll be motivated to provide the highest standard of care.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist at our Cheltenham Hospital, you’re registered with the appropriate governing body and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC. As well as post-registration experience, you will have experience in Oncology. Currently the service is limited to breast cancer but with a plan to expand the service to other cancers in the future.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:

  • Be a valued addition to the team in our consultant and nurse-led service

  • Work autonomously, managing a caseload

  • Fully assess each patient’s needs, providing tailored treatment plans and care

  • Assist consultants during clinics

  • Liaise with external care providers and local NHS Trusts

  • Be able to demonstrate advanced communication skills

  • Have knowledge and experience of holistic needs assessments and post surgery wound care

  • Virtually attend the Breast Cancer MDT meeting on a Tuesday evening.

  • Ensure compliance with NICE and NHS Breast Cancer Quality Measures.

Please note that our oncology service is still being developed and expanded within the hospital, so this a really exciting time to join the team. The successful candidate will initially focus more on our Breast service to begin with but as the service expands, we cover other specialities. The service runs Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm, so we would like the person joining the team to be flexible within those hours.

Helping you feel good.

We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued. That’s why we’ve developed a benefits package with you in mind. Here, you can choose from a range of fitness, lifestyle, health and fitness wellbeing rewards, such as free gym membership, health assessments, retail discounts and pension options.
