The Crux Café & Bar is a vibrant and welcoming café, known for its excellent coffee, delicious food, and friendly atmosphere. Based within Rockstar Climbing, we provide a cozy space where customers can relax, socialise, and enjoy great refreshments. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Café Team Member to join our team and deliver excellent service to our customers.

Job Description: As a Café Team Member, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the café. We are looking for someone with a passion for food, drink, and customer service, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and serving high-quality coffee, food, and beverages.
• Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
• Handling transactions and operating the till accurately. We are a cashless environment.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations.
• Assisting with stock management, restocking, and monitoring inventory levels.
• Supporting the team during busy periods and contributing to a positive work environment.
• Following health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a café, bar, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential.
• A passion for coffee, food, and customer service.
• A friendly and positive attitude with great communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure during busy periods.
• Food Safety Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
• Barista experience (preferred but not essential – training will be provided).

Working Hours: This role requires working three weekday evenings per week from 16:30 to 22:30, as well as every other weekend from 09:00 to 18:30. Flexibility is essential, as shifts may be adjusted during seasonal periods such as school holidays. This role averages at 27.5 hours per week.
