What You’ll Be Doing
  • Building and preparing cable assemblies from engineering drawings and written work instructions.
  • Carrying out crimping, soldering, wire stripping, heat shrinking, and continuity testing.
  • Supporting potting and sealing operations under supervision.
  • Completing build records, checklists, and labelling requirements for traceability.
  • Assisting with basic electrical testing tasks.
  • Restocking connectors, consumables, and materials as required.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and adhering to workshop safety requirements.
  • Reporting build issues, material shortages, or non‑conformances to the Lead Technician.
  • Taking part in on‑the‑job training to develop skills in cable assembly and testing.
Attributes
  • Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical principles (from school, college, or practical hobbies).
  • Comfortable using hand tools such as cutters, crimpers, screwdrivers, or strippers (training provided).
  • Keen to learn new skills in cable assembly, soldering, and testing.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing quality work.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions accurately.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn in a technical workshop environment.
Benefits
  • 5% Employer pension contribution.
