Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their high‑performing Manchester team and help grow a sophisticated enterprise sales pipeline across global markets.
The Role
As the Business Development Manager, you will shape sales strategy and support the full sales cycle, from identifying prospects to delivering tailored proposals. You will position the business as a trusted partner for payment optimisation and performance improvement for global enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Pipeline Growth: Identify, research, and qualify new enterprise opportunities through outbound outreach and networking.
- Strategic Account Mapping: Build detailed account plans, identifying decision‑makers, influencers and strategic entry points using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM systems.
- Sales Process Support: Collaborate with senior sales leaders on pitches, proposals, and follow‑ups.
- Proposal Development: Produce compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs and objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends to refine sales strategy and positioning.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams including Insights, Consulting and Marketing to strengthen your understanding of the payments ecosystem and customer challenges.
About You
- 3+ years experience in B2B enterprise sales or business development, ideally within consulting or professional services.
- Degree educated – 2:1 or above.
- A strong understanding of consultative selling and the ability to tailor messaging effectively.
- Experience building and managing a sales pipeline from lead generation to close.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills, including experience engaging C‑suite leaders.
- A self‑motivated, organised and results‑oriented approach.
- Resilience, adaptability, and comfort working in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment.
Preferred Experience
- Selling consulting, advisory or professional services to large enterprise retailers merchants.
- Using CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex data into compelling insights.
