Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Building Manager to join Cushman & Wakefield in Uxbridge, managing one of our most esteemed and exciting buildings.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this role will be to co‑ordinate the operational day‑to‑day aspects of building management, comply with risk management practices, and serve as an ambassador to the brand.

  • Coordinate day‑to‑day building operations.
  • Act as the first point of contact for occupier queries and regular communications.
  • Respond to and resolve complaints within a minimal timescale.
  • Ensure the building remains legally compliant with inspections and repairs within specified timeframes.
  • Identify works, appoint appropriate contractors, and supervise those works.
  • Ensure staff wages/fees are correct as per scope of services.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments.
  • Follow HR procedures (absence, sickness, expense claims, performance reviews).
  • Conduct monthly one‑to‑one meetings with direct reports, including performance management and reviews.
  • Report tenant activity that may breach lease agreements to property surveyor.
  • Manage occupier queries relating to facilities management services.
  • Maintain communication with occupiers regarding building activities.
  • Inspect building regularly and produce reports.
  • Develop positive, client‑focused relationships with surveyors, service partners, and occupiers.
  • Produce and manage service‑charge budgets, reconciliations and quarterly variance reports.
  • Manage all aspects of contractor day‑to‑day activities at site.
Qualifications

Ideal candidate has a proven track record in Facilities Management, Building Management, and customer service. Must be able to manage and motivate a small team, including performance management, training, and appraisals.

Key skills: proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; strong verbal and written communication.
