Supermassive Games have produced some of the most recognisable and compelling storytelling titles in the world of AAA games. The BAFTA-winning Until Dawn, the cinematic masterclass of The Dark Pictures Anthology, the multi‑award winning The Quarry, the action‑packed rollercoaster horror VR titles Switchback VR and Rush of Blood to the world of Little Nightmares, and many more! Time and time again, our incredibly talented and passionate team have delivered games that strike fear into all that dare to play.

We’re now on the hunt for a Build and Full Stack Engineer to join us here at Supermassive Games. Fancy joining our team and creating your own story? This is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to start February 2026.

Role Overview

As a Build and Full Stack Engineer you will support multiple game projects by maintaining build systems and developing tools. You’ll collaborate directly with game teams to understand their needs, develop extensible systems, and provide ongoing support. You will need to take advantage of different systems and technologies, and work with a diverse range of users with varying levels of technical expertise. In addition to developing technical solutions, you’ll create interactive dashboards and web‑based content workflows. If you are a Build Engineer with an interest in web development, or a Full Stack Engineer with build experience, or are unsure whether your experience is strong enough – we would still love to hear from you!

Typical Day

  • Developing features in our build system infrastructure, such as monitoring or build machine provisioning
  • Implementing data processing pipelines that operate on large volumes of motion capture data
  • Meeting regularly with stakeholders to report on progress and receive feedback
  • Creating technical designs for solutions and collaborating with technical peers to address feedback
  • Planning large deliverables, breaking them down into smaller tasks and providing time estimates
  • Responding to bug reports or support requests, working closely with colleagues on game teams to resolve issues
Requirements
  • Experience managing automation systems such as TeamCity or Jenkins in a game development environment (CI/CD, data processing, agent provisioning, etc.)
  • Experience with version control systems such as Perforce or Git
  • Full‑stack web development skills (HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, SolidJS or React, NodeJS, MongoDB)
  • Experience with system monitoring and process dashboards (ElasticSearch, time‑series visualisation)
  • Scripting and application development using Python and PyQT/PySide
  • Application deployment using containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Professional attitude towards support, including face‑to‑face support, progress updates and high‑quality documentation
  • Preferably some experience working with Unreal Engine and C++
  • Experience with motion capture data processing would be beneficial
Benefits
  • 25 Days Annual Leave (3 of which are used when we close the studio for our end‑of‑year break)
  • Private Medical Insurance (BUPA)
  • Life Assurance (6 × annual salary)
  • Salary Exchange Pension Scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Income Protection
