About the Role

We’re looking for an energetic, confident and guest-focused Bartender to join our Front of House team at The Britannia – SMOK’D, a busy, high-quality pub and whisky-focused venue in the heart of SE1. You’ll be serving great drinks, delivering friendly service, and helping maintain the atmosphere our guests love.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serving drinks (beer, cocktails, whisky pours, soft drinks) to a high standard.
  • Delivering warm, efficient and professional service at the bar and on the floor.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and well‑stocked bar.
  • Preparing simple cocktails and mixed drinks following SMOK’D specs.
  • Engaging with guests, offering recommendations, and enhancing their experience.
  • Handling payments, tills, and cash‑up procedures when required.
  • Supporting the FOH team during busy service and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Upholding all licensing laws, age‑verification checks, and health & safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
  • Friendly, confident and great with people.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while keeping service standards high.
  • Comfortable pouring beer, making basic cocktails, and handling a busy bar.
  • Good communication skills and a strong team‑player attitude.
  • Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred — but the right attitude is most important.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends.
  • Right to work in the UK.
