Job summary

An award-winning health and social care charity is seeking Support Workers to provide assistance to residents with Autism and Learning Difficulties in a supportive environment. Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

The people we support in this service are aged from 26 to over 50. This service offers a range of support from mainly Autism & Learning Difficulties. We have 12 apartments in the building and support our service users to live as independently as possible. Our team of support workers comes from all different backgrounds, some with many years of experience in Health & Social Care and some that came to us with absolutely no experience at all. All we ask is that you are kind, compassionate and willing to learn. Everything else we are happy to train you in.

Responsibilities
  • Celebrate the individuality of each person that lives here, encouraging them to enjoy activities such as gardening, communal lounge engagement, shopping, meals, coffee, puzzles, crafts, singing, walks and days out. Support and encourage residents to try new things.
  • Assist residents in daily activities and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Work individually to support residents in their own flats across various shifts, including long days, shorter days and waking nights with the odd sleep in.
