Bank Support Worker

Compensation: £12.90 / hour

Description

Red House is looking to recruit a Bank Support Worker to join the team.

Red House is a six-bedroom service supporting adults with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, and dual diagnosis. Five residents live in the main house, with one in a self-contained flat.

Our residents enjoy a variety of activities such as outings to cafés, cinema trips, visits to Gloucester, and using public transport. We’re also looking for enthusiastic staff to support holiday trips.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Support Worker, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.

  • Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks. To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
  • Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
  • Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
  • Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.

What you'll bring to the role

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or a related area, or an equivalent or higher recognised qualification. They should also have GCSEs or an NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths. It is acknowledged that not all new recruits will have obtained the NVQ Level 2 qualification upon appointment; however, they will be expected to begin the process of attaining it within six months of joining and complete it within a specified timeframe. While experience of working in a related environment is desirable, it is not essential.
