Join to apply for the Associate, CDM Consultant role at Ridge and Partners LLP.

The Construction Health and Safety team is an expanding group of technically skilled specialists at Ridge. We specialise in the provision of CDM related services including Principal Designer, Principal Designer Support Services and CDM Advisor. We work across the UK with a wide range of both new and longstanding clients within businesses and in sectors as diverse as residential, commercial, retail, office, advanced manufacturing, leisure, hotel, sport, science, industry and education. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly successful consultancy which is going through an exciting period of growth and can be based in either our Liverpool or Manchester offices.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the project team including the client and designers to deliver Principal Designer services ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Manage the pre-construction phase, including preparation and collation of pre-construction information, lead CDM workshops and contribute to the development of design safety strategies for construction, end use and future maintenance activities.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders on projects client, principal contractor, architect, design team and keep them updated in relation to H&S/CDM matters.
  • Carry out site inspections/compliance audits.
  • Prepare Health and Safety files and review operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Develop client relationships and build new ones.
  • Under supervision the role includes the ability to contribute to and develop bid submissions and fee proposals.
  • You will be aware of new work opportunities and potential new clients, and maintain existing clients.
  • You will need to work closely with both external clients and internal Partners.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience of overseeing the design risk management process including running CDM workshops.
  • Skillset to challenge designers to ensure safe methods of construction are established during the pre-construction phase.
  • Participation in the access and maintenance process including plant replacement strategies.
  • An understanding and experience of the design and construction process and the principles of risk reduction.
  • In depth knowledge of the CDM regulations and associated legislation.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar technical or professional qualification.
  • Be an Associate member of the Association for Project Safety and/or technical membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
