About The Role & Who We’re Scouting

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and skilled YDP/FDP Assistant Therapist to join our squad at Leicester City Football Club. As YDP/FDP Assistant Therapist, you’ll play a key role in the development and delivery of leading‑edge therapy services to the YDP/FDP within the Academy.

Your responsibilities will include assisting the Lead YDP/FDP therapist in the development and implementation of injury mitigation strategies to reduce the risk of injury during training and matches and maximise availability. You will provide therapy treatment to players for injuries and as part of their physical development programmes, managing a small case load of rehabilitation cases which will include the development of treatment and physical development programs to ensure players are fit to return to full performance. You will work closely with the sports science and performance team to monitor players’ physical progress. You will need to bring energy, enthusiasm, and a pro‑active nature as well as excellent interpersonal skills to the table.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in a similar role, ideally within an elite pediatric sporting environment. You’ll need membership of the relevant regulatory body (CSP, HCPC, BASRAT etc), an Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) qualification or equivalent, or the ability to achieve this within 3 months of starting the role. A BSc(Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation is essential.
