The Venue

The Newport is an impressive complex that had captured the hearts of locals and visitors when we opened its doors in early 2016, making it Australia’s largest beer garden.

In 2018 Bert’s Bar & Brasserie was unveiled showcasing a mouth-watering coastal European menu overlooking Pittwater and the stunning grounds of The Newport. Think Oyster bar, dressed Crab, Crudo and Caviar. With a tantalising wine & cocktail list we aim to service something special to all our guests.

The Role

This is an incredible opportunity for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to learn from a team of passionate hospitality professionals. We are looking for Hospitality Leaders who are committed to imbedding themselves in the team & venue, connecting authentically with the community and our guests.

We build teams who know how to deliver guest experiences like no other. Our leaders are expected to always drive the teams they support to create magical moments for every guest – big and small!

In a nutshell, you will need to:

  • Understand how to deliver exemplary guest experience. This incredible new venue will feel warm and welcoming with a casual tone of engagement. Underpinned by knowledgeable, professional execution.
  • Lead & Coach a diverse team of people. Ensuring that team culture is guest focused, community led, and sales driven.
  • Competency to drive the financial results of the department. Be sales focused, create and lead the team to execute revenue initiatives. Demonstrate proven results in management of financial controls.
  • Passion for product. Support the extraordinary team of chefs and guarantee you and your teams have a detailed knowledge of the product.
  • Establish a healthy working environment for the team – enjoyable, educational, results focused and respectful.
