We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Blackburn Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals. A pillar in Melbourne's east, the Blackburn Hotel has everything you could ever want or need in your favourite local. Just a few minutes walk from Blackburn train station and a five minute drive from Box Hill's central shopping strip, we're in the perfect position for locals and visitors alike.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Take pride in your presentation and professionalism leading from the front
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift over a mix of days, nights, weekends, opens, mids and closing shifts

Inherent requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising and want to grow your career in a supportive venue
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA, RSGModules and Victorian Gaming Licence as per state requirements
