Assistant Management Accountant

Reports into: Commercial Finance Manager

Location: London

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week)

We aim to redefine spaces and how people experience music, art, culture and recreation by breaking down barriers. Our team works across events and venues including Printworks London, Depot Mayfield Manchester, Drumsheds London, Exhibition London and Magazine London.

Our finance team is passionate about accuracy, beautifully presented data and driving insight into company performance. We strive to understand the business and partner effectively with key stakeholders to help leadership make long-term strategic decisions.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a passionate and motivated person to join the Finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant. The team is responsible for the numbers behind the Broadwick Group, reporting financial data to aid leadership decisions.

What you'll be responsible for

Finance Administration

  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assisting with the preparation of year end accounts and reports
  • Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks
  • Management of event settlements with partners
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
  • Developing professional relationships with internal business partners
  • Assisting in the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Working with the Group Director of Business & Operations on group procurement reviews
  • Processing of monthly and fortnightly payroll data
  • Assisting with the preparation of year end accounts and reports
  • Supporting the wider team as required

  • Communicating your training needs and actively participating in your own development in line with the line manager's expectations
  • Creating a work environment that aligns with Broadwick values and principles

Other

  • Carrying out ad hoc duties when required
You'll need to have
  • Previous experience as an assistant management accountant, finance assistant or equivalent
  • Previous experience with internal business partnering
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to be proactive and organised, as you will assist with managing multiple projects that the finance team are working on
  • Ability and keen appetite to take ownership of your designated tasks
  • Prides in creating clear, structured, and visually tidy working papers for internal and external use
  • Strong attention to detail
Nice to have
  • Knowledge and passion for the music and entertainment industry
  • Started your accountancy qualifications (we provide study support after probation)
  • Willingness to develop your financial understanding of how a business works
