Role Overview

The Assistant Estimator will support senior estimators in preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing tender documentation, and liaising with suppliers and subcontractors. The role requires strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a pre-construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior estimators in reviewing and analysing tender documentation
  • Support take-off and measurement of quantities from drawings and specifications
  • Help prepare cost estimates and bills of quantities under guidance
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and clarify scope
  • Assist in evaluating and comparing supplier/subcontractor quotations
  • Maintain accurate records of tender documents, correspondence, and cost data
  • Contribute to risk identification and value engineering opportunities
  • Help prepare tender submission documents ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Attend internal tender review meetings and provide analytical support
  • Participate in post-tender reviews to capture lessons learned
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in estimating or quantity surveying (groundworks, RC frame, or civil engineering)
