Assembler/Fitter

Location: Kempston, GB

Role Purpose

To assist the company in achieving its business objectives and revenue targets by carrying out assembly, fitting and calibration on all mechanical and electromechanical assemblies and instruments throughout the Company’s product range.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, test and calibrate the Company’s product range from engineering instructions to ensure compliance to quality standards.
  • Work from complex diagrams, engineers’ notes and schematics to accurately produce product on a ‘get-it-right-first-time’ basis so meeting the required quality standards.
  • Proficiently use a variety of hand tools, with the ability to de‑solder and solder conventional and SMT components, to dismantle and assemble sub‑assemblies and full instruments accurately to standard unit times and set deadlines.
  • Diagnose faulty process operations, product imperfections, equipment malfunctions and report any areas that prevent products meeting their full‑published specification.
  • Consistently work within the guidelines laid down by Heath and Safety requirements when manufacturing product to minimise risk of injury/accident.
  • Identify possible changes/improvements to build processes to assist in continuous improvements to product quality and efficiency.
  • Configure products at point of sale to customer requirements following standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that all activities are undertaken and controlled in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to measure performance and demonstrate continual improvement.

  • A reasonable amount of additional hours will be expected during peaks of activity to ensure business objectives are met.
