The Federation of Towers Schools are seeking to appoint a committed, professional and enthusiastic Administrative Finance Officer to join our busy and welcoming school office team. We are looking for a pro‑active, enthusiastic, conscientious and self‑motivated person who would like to provide a key role in our busy administration team, a calm and reassuring presence is essential. A sense of humour is crucial too!

The Federation of Towers Schools comprises of an Infant school and Junior school, situated on the same site that are formally joined together in a successful and happy partnership. This is a key role within our oversubscribed three‑form entry Infant and Junior schools, which are situated on the same site and work together as one successful federation with a shared vision. At The Federation of Towers schools, we BUILD our futures together, and whilst there are two schools, we have ONE vision.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for parents, children and visitors and must therefore present a calm, friendly and professional manner at all times. You will work closely with the School Business Manager and office team, providing high‑quality administrative support alongside financial responsibilities, supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and sound knowledge of the use of Microsoft packages. You will be required to administer manual and computerised records, use our school information systems such as SIMS, parentmail etc.

You will be proactive, flexible and able to use your initiative, with excellent communication and organisational skills. Accuracy, discretion and the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment are essential. A sense of humour and a positive, team‑focused approach are highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Being part of the wider office team which will include front office duties, including welcoming parents and visitors and answering telephone enquiries
  • Administrative and secretarial support to the schools leadership team
  • Financial administration, including processing orders, invoices and data entry
  • Use of school systems including SIMS and other computerised record systems
  • Supporting nursery administration in liaison with the EYFS team
  • Administering first aid where required
Qualifications
  • Experience of working in a school office (desirable)
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience of SIMS and FMS (or willingness to learn)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
