Job Description

An activity coordinator is like the chief fun officer. They create a vibrant, joy‑filled atmosphere for our residents, design exciting events and hobbies such as arts and crafts, baking, book clubs and pub quizzes, and work closely with residents and care teams to create tailored activity plans. Activities aren’t just fun; they’re also therapeutic, boosting residents’ spirits through meditation, wellbeing classes and more.

Responsibilities
  • Run morning and afternoon activity sessions
  • Produce and update an activity planner for the home, working to a set activities budget
  • Organise birthday surprises for residents
  • Liaise with external companies and performers from the local community to organise days out and events at the home
  • Arrange one‑to‑one sessions with residents, using reminiscence tools, puzzles, reading, or simply a cup of tea and a chat
  • Support the home with its social media channels as required

You are a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, who can also manage budgets and maintain paperwork, effectively prioritising as they arise. You want to make a real difference, care for others, share your sense of humour and spread the infectious enthusiasm that makes people’s lives better.
