This leading independent firm of accountants, based in the heart of Winchester, is seeking an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least one years’ experience in an accountancy practice who is studying or looking to study AAT, ACCA, ACA and wants to gain hands-on experience with a varied client base while developing a long-term career.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with statutory accounts preparation for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
• Supporting the production of management accounts and tax computations
• Preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping work for a range of clients
• Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries
• Working closely with senior team members and receiving structured training
• Providing support to junior colleagues where required

Suitable Candidate

• Minimum 1 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
• Currently studying AAT / ACCA / ACA or looking to start professional studies
• Strong technical grounding in accounts preparation and VAT
