Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Agency: Hays Specialist Recruitment
Location: Runcorn, Cheshire, WA7 2FQ
Salary/Rate: £14.62 to £16.15 per hour

Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a Runcorn-based single-form entry primary school that is at the heart of its local community, as they are looking for a motivated and experienced teaching assistant to join their team on a long-term temporary basis. This is a long-term part-time position consisting of 5 mornings, 8:30am-1pm. Within this role, you will be joining the KS1 cohort and supporting a female pupil on a 1:1 basis within the main classroom and resource provision. The pupil you will be supporting has SEN and requires intense speech and language support, meaning that you will lead on speech and language interventions and therapy. Other duties will include:

  • Use of PECS and Makaton to support speech and language development
  • ELKLAN
  • Supporting during break and lunch times
What you’ll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full “Right to Work” in the UK, a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:

  • Experience supporting SEN, speech, and language requirements is advantageous
  • Have experience using PECS and Makaton
  • Being ELKLAN trained is advantageous
