INSPECTOR
JOB PURPOSE
The Inspector performs basic and or complex inspection work depending on hisexperience in petroleum, petrochemical, gas, grain, oils and fats terminals andrefineries; also performs inspection work on board barges and ships followingindustry standards and the procedures published by API, Fosfa, Gafta andSaybolt.
General Responsibilities
Inspector , shall assist other inspectors from the department and Operationsdepartment in his responsibility duties of the location.
Inspectors , are responsible for the efficient work within the location, sothat can meet client needs accurately and in time.
Inspectors , may work at different locations and on offshore operations asrequested by the company.
The functions to be developed by the Inspectors, are mainly included within theport activity and sometimes offshore on high seas, so that the development andfulfillment of the functions of the description of each Job, including thespecific service of standby, constitute a function of the job and are carried outwithin the ordinary working day, as long as they are carried out aseffective working time.
Is responsible for and takes care of running the operation at the lowestpossible costs, while meeting the requirements for safety, quality of serviceand maintenance of assets. Inspector I must ensure full cooperation with hisdepartment and his Managers on all assignments.
Must follow all company procedures as established by Saybolt and CoreLaboratories, including but not limited to HSE Manual, Accounting Policies& Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures,Ethics Policy, Saybolt Compliance Code, etc. Must keep himself updatedand aware of all updates and act accordingly.
Inspectors, reports directly to Operations department.
Competencies
Jobs requiring autonomous execution, usually reasoning initiative by theworkers responsible for their execution, acting under supervision or withoutit, as well as the basic use of English language needed to perform the job.
Perform visual cleanliness inspections of tanks including entering confinedspaces.
Verify the accuracy of measurement and sampling equipment.
Work safely in the presence of hazardous materials as defined in theappropriate Material Safety Data Sheets.
Take product measurements and samples; accurately and promptly perform relatedcalculations; complete required reports and forms clearly and promptly; performinventories; do non-petroleum or chemical inspection assignments.
Perform other inspection department duties assigned by the Manager orCoordinator.
Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in Sayboltprocedures manuals, the Global Safety Manual, and Core Laboratories/Sayboltcompany polices.
Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical,Fosfa, Gafta and gas inspection procedures, including Right-to-Know training,hazardous materials transportation, and other safety training required byapplicable regulations.
Gain knowledge of basic and advanced laboratory procedures through crosstraining in laboratory.
Maintain all material and installations in clean and good condition at everymoment.
Perform sample disposal and take under control the stocks of the materialsneeded to perform his job.

Certificates, licenses and registrations:
· Inspectors must have avehicle in good, safe operating condition that can be used on the job for bothpersonal and sample transportation in all ambient weather conditions. Vehicles used for sample transportation must be able to accommodate thesecondary sample containers issued for sample transportation.
· Inspectors are required tomaintain the proper levels of automobile liability insurance and meet all staterequirements on vehicles used for Saybolt assignments.
· Inspectors must also maintaina valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
· Local travel and occasionalout-of-town assignments are required.

Education and/orexperience:
· A high school diploma orequivalent (general education degree).
· 1 year as an Inspector orrelated experience.
· Good verbal and writtenknowledge of local language and English.
· Proficient user of MS Office.
Job Knowledge:
All kind of possible samplings & measurements. Capable to perform any kindof Inspection vessel and shore with a supervision of a higher level Inpector orAccount Manager.
Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, usingwhole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio,percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read andinterpolate applicable data and tables.
Social skills:
· Good communication skills.
· Able to work independently.
· Team building skills.
