Product Manager (m/f/d) – Material Science Microscopy

As a Product Manager for Software, you will lead the life‑cycle management of software solutions for material‑science applications in R&D and QC markets across assigned regions.
Responsibilities
- Strategic management and development of the product portfolio throughout its life cycle.
- Develop and implement product strategies in coordination with global and cross‑functional teams.
- Work closely with R&D to execute the product development plan and provide timely feedback.
- Own software P&L: monitor sales results, pricing strategy and cost analysis.
- Create product and marketing materials and conduct internal product training as part of launch activities.
- Select and evaluate third‑party components to complement the portfolio.
- Apply deep product knowledge to address complex customer questions when needed.
- Stay informed of technology, market dynamics and customer needs.
- Absorb market key aspects, success criteria, risks and opportunities rapidly and effectively.
- International travel up to 30 %.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 years of professional experience in product development, marketing or sales, preferably with microscopic imaging systems or cameras.
- Solid technical proficiency in material‑science, imaging and/or industrial microscopy (not required to be an SME).
- Proven experience in software product management (preferred).
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies (preferred).
- Strong customer orientation and ability to translate user needs into actionable product requirements.
- Demonstrated business acumen with focus on revenue growth and profitability.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking with a market‑driven, results‑oriented mindset.
- Ability to simplify and present complex topics clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; proficiency in French and/or German is an advantage.
- Ability to work autonomously while travelling across time zones.
- Track record of successful international and multicultural teamwork (US, Europe, Japan).
