Job description

Operates under the direction of the Procurement Director. Makes independent decisions with work performance subject to general review. Responsible for building and shaping Procurement processes excellence and efficiency, performance management programs, and governance across the organization in a manner that ensures efficient and effective third-party selection and management of goods and services acquisition.

In this strategic role, the Manager owns the ideation of the processes (digital) transformation, ensures alignment with business owners, and develops actionable plans to meet departmental objectives. They implement best practices to enhance effectiveness and add value to the Source-to-PO and Source-to-Contract Procurement functions.

Responsible for monitoring and mitigating operational risk stemming from the procurement model, processes, systems, service provision levels, and staffing availability and effectiveness, identifying improvement opportunities and governance requirements, as well as delivering and implementing new functionality with explicit business value.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. As a leader, develops and drives a procurement talent management process, including the development of talent pipelines for the Procurement team.
  2. Accountable for the development and implementation of processes and tools which enable the function to achieve its goals, targets, and KPIs.
  3. Set new, challenging performance goals and horizons for the Procurement function and deliver the process and system capabilities for those to be achieved.
  4. Direct the identification and prioritization of opportunities to remove process waste and automate processes whilst ensuring control and compliance.
  5. Direct the development of a world-class high-quality performance excellence framework, developing tools, models, mechanisms, and a suite of KPIs and reporting, tailored to ensure the performance of the Procurement group is maximized and achieves optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Accountable to ensure compliance with, and utilization of, existing contractual arrangements, the management of customer expectations, and the on-time delivery of agreed commitments.
  7. Ensure that you and your team continuously liaise with other procurement functions and with internal customers and stakeholders at all levels to ensure a constant flow of data and information leading to continuous improvement in internal procurement Key Performance Indicators.
  8. Direct the development of high-quality proactive internal relationships and provide a ‘help-desk’ functionality to the end-user departments which delivers constant feedback, data, information, and an excellent record of on-time delivery and quality to its customers.
  9. Responsible for the development and promotion of a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement across the entire Procurement Team.
  10. Accountable for the development and ongoing execution of training and education material ensuring that all stakeholder groups understand the key Procurement processes, their role within it, and that of others, and are motivated and incentivized to provide constructive feedback and input into the improvement program.
  11. Responsible to ensure effective Procurement process governance across the organization.
  12. Review and evaluate Procurement performance in conjunction with input from internal and external stakeholders, including user departments.
