Assistant Accountant jobs in United Arab Emirates

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the oil and petrochemical trading, ship management and operation sector. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate, complete and timely reporting.
2. Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for audits and regulatory compliance.
4. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy to accounting standards and regulations and compliance.
5. Handle tax filings and ensure compliance with local tax regulations within jurisdiction.
6. Liaise with external auditors during financial audits and assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
7. Prepare reports and presentations for management to support decision-making.
8. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and support business growth.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Professional accounting certification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
5. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations within UAE.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Fluency in "Farsi" is an advantage.
