A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse - Qualified in Theatre, based at Life The Crompton Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning of the theatre and ensure quality nursing care to all patients.

1. Financial Management:
   • Manage theatre clocking time for accurate charging.
   • Charge consignment stock, equipment, and prostheses according to policy.
   • Participate in stock taking and control of consignment stock following hospital policies.
2. Equipment and Instrumentation:
   • Ensure correct use of theatre equipment and instrumentation.
   • Educate and supervise staff on equipment utilization.
3. Patient Care:
   • Obtain pre-operative information and visit patients post-operatively.
   • Ensure patient comfort and assist the doctor during surgery.
4. People Management:
   • Provide theatre-specific training and assess staff competence.
   • Assist in monitoring working hours.
   • Ensure team works within scope of practice.
   • Provide performance feedback to the Unit Manager.
5. SHEQ Management:
   • Use personal protective equipment and comply with ISO standards.
   • Dispose of medical waste to control infection.
6. Stakeholder Relationships:
   • Participate in review and consultative meetings internally.
   • Maintain relationships with external stakeholders by reporting issues to the Unit Manager.

• General Nursing Degree
• Registration with SANC
• Experience in Theatre
• Diploma in a relevant specialty (if applicable)
• Relevant scrubbing experience and technical skills
• Understanding of private healthcare industry (advantage)
• Computer proficiency (advantage)
