The Quality supervisor performs a variety of working level and technical duties to assure the ongoing compliance with quality standards. This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Job Duties
- Performs various Document Control functions
- Creates & maintains master manufacturing records (MMR’s), batching and production records
- Creates & maintains Finished Product Specifications
- Writes/Creates Quality related procedures (SOPs), work instructions, Forms, etc
- Manages regulatory system requirements for Organic, Kosher, etc
- Performs internal audits and assists with external audits
- Manages customer complaints, corrective actions and CAPA’s
- Assists with the supplier approval program
- Assists with management and implementation of HACCP and Food Safety programs
- Performs Traceability exercises
- Reviews production records and CofAs for compliance and releases finished products
- Assists with inspection, sampling, and release of incoming materials when needed
- Assists with quality checks in production (including line clearances) when needed
- Performs training on GMPs, SOPs, etc
- Interprets quality in all aspects of manufacturing and implements solutions and improvements
- Helps to ensure plant wide GMP compliance
- Acts as a back-up to the Quality manager
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
Required Skills
- Has strong knowledge and skills associated with Quality Assurance systems and procedures in food and dietary supplement manufacturing
- Experience with auditing and implementing corrective actions
- Experienced Trainer
- Understands all aspects of the Quality system in food manufacturing and knows how to implement those systems.
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Works as a team player
- Ability to multi-task in a busy on-demand environment
- Communicates effectively and professionally. Ability to speak and write English with good writing skills, Spanish speaking/writing is a plus
Experience And Education
- 5 years minimum work experience in a Quality role (dietary supplement & food manufacturing).
- Experience as a Quality Supervisor or Quality specialist (preferred)
- PCQI certified
- HACCP trained / certified
- Experience working with NSF, SQF, Organic, Kosher, Halal certification requirements
