Title: Histologist - Float

• Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital

• Location: Tampa, FL | Team Float for Hillsborough County

• Status: Full time, Exempt: No

• Shift Hours: Hours Will Vary

• Weekend Work: Occasional

• On Call: No

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all phases of tissue processing from fixation to final slide including special stains and techniques

• Maintains all files, records, and documentation required by state and federal licensing boards

• Cleans and maintains equipment and instruments

• Stocks and maintains supplies

• Must possess interpersonal and customer service skills

• Demonstrates organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills

• Works both independently and with a team

• Possess computer skills appropriate to position

• Uses and understands medical terminology

• Performs other duties as assigned

Certification & Licensure

• Required – Histology

• Preferred – ASCP

Education

• Required – High School or Equivalent

• Preferred – Technical Degree in Histotechnology

• Preferred – Associates in Related Field

Experience

• Preferred – 1 Year Laboratory Related
