Description du poste
Quantitative Risk Analyst with focus on validation of AI models

Job ID: 27204

Would you like to be part of a talented team and apply your expert knowledge of AI to provide valuable insights on how to support Nordea’s safe and trusted use of AI models? We are looking for Quantitative Risk Analysts [Regular/Senior/Lead] to strengthen our validation capabilities for AI models.

At Nordea, we’re committed to being a partner our customers and society can count on. Compliance and integrity go hand in hand. Joining us means you’ll have an impact on how we do banking – today and tomorrow. So bring your ideas, skills and unique background. With us, you’ll be in good company with plenty of opportunities to collaborate, grow and make your mark on something bigger.

About this opportunity

Welcome to Model Risk and Validation. We add value by conducting independent model validation for a diverse portfolio of models. Our team is looking for a new colleague who will support our validation activities, with a focus on validating AI models, in particular AI models used for financial crime compliance.

You will play a key role in ensuring that models are conceptually sound and appropriate for their intended business use.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Validate AI models, with a focus on models used for financial crime compliance (anti-money laundering, fraud detection models etc.)
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and document your conclusions and recommendations on how to improve the model in a report to support decision making
  • Perform governance activities such as model identification and follow up on validation findings
  • Challenge model developers and model owners on design and implementation of models and provide actionable feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Nordea Group in reporting validation outcomes to senior management

You’ll join a team of experienced model risk experts, with a diverse quantitative background.

The role is based in Warsaw, Helsinki, or Stockholm.

Who you are

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in being at our best – and that we imagine you share with us.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • Engage in a productive collaboration with model stakeholders
  • Are a team player and also master working independently
  • Are self-driven with ambition to deliver timely and high quality analysis
  • Have an eye for detail, yet able to focus on the big picture
  • Are innovative and thrive on challenging multidisciplinary tasks
  • Have excellent skills in spoken and written communication in English as well as in scientific writing

Your experience and background:

  • Academic degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, physics, data science or similar from a high quality academic institution
  • Expertise in AML, fraud analytics, model tuning and calibration, data segmentation techniques
  • In depth knowledge of AI and machine learning
  • Experience in programming Python, but experience in other programming languages is also valuable
  • Previous experience in model validations is a plus

If this sounds like you, get in touch!
