Overview

The Junction is recruiting for a Young Carers’ Development Worker.

Hours: 18.5 hours per week (term time only)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £27,586 (pro rata) for 18.5 hours per week, term time only

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement activities to support young carers and promote their participation.
  • Provide project support interventions to assist young carers and schools in identifying and supporting them.
  • Increase awareness and identification of young carers in schools and other relevant settings; improve access to support.
  • Collaborate with schools, communities and partners to deliver appropriate services and ensure safeguarding.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on activity to demonstrate outcomes for young carers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in youth work, community development or a related field (recommended).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to work 18.5 hours per week, term time only.
  • Full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and other relevant checks as required.
