XP School Gateshead Secondary School (11-16)

XP Gateshead is a deliberately-sized mainstream comprehensive secondary school with 50 students in each year group. XP Gateshead is a new school opened in August 2021 and is part of the XP School Trust which is based in Doncaster. We offer a distinctive education for up to 250 pupils with an inclusive culture based around “crew” and learning delivered through carefully designed “expeditions” mapped against national curriculum standards.

Learning Coach (Teaching Assistant)

You will join a “Crew” of dedicated professionals in an innovative new school setting with the purpose of improving life chances for young people in Gateshead.

Learning Coaches support all students with their learning in the classroom. Unlike most secondary schools, we have deliberately sized classes of 25 mixed ability students, and a Learning Coach in most classrooms, in addition to the teacher.

XP Trust is a group of internationally renowned schools, hosting hundreds of visitors from across the world every year.

The roles are based at our school in Gateshead however there is an expectation that colleagues will travel to XP Doncaster for continued professional development from time to time as necessary. There is an extensive induction process when joining our Trust.
