Location: POW WORKSHOPS, 41-43 STANDARD ROAD, LONDON NW10 6HF

Type: FREELANCE

We are seeking an experienced workshop tutor, with a passion for making and mentoring, to run our woodworking workshops and develop new session formats. This role will be responsible for guiding participants through hands-on projects, from complete beginners taking taster sessions to advanced makers in our extended programmes.

This is a freelance role which takes responsibility for delivering workshop sessions, coordinating with our team and external tutors, and developing our workshop offerings in the exciting, developing and creative area of Park Royal.

Responsibilities:

Leading workshop sessions across all skill levels

Providing safety briefings and equipment guidance to workshop participants

Designing and developing new workshop formats based on community interest

Coordinating workshop schedules and session planning with our team and external tutors

Maintaining a safe, supportive environment that encourages learning and creativity

Preparing workshop materials and managing session logistics

Supporting participants with hands-on guidance and project mentorship during sessions

Person Requirements:

Excellent skills in woodworking, metalworking, digital fabrication or crafts.

Experience mentoring or guiding others in practical making skills

Strong understanding of workshop safety and best practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work with diverse groups including children, adults, and corporate teams

Passionate about helping others learn and develop making skills

Reliable, organized, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Experience running workshops or practical sessions

Experience working with community groups

First Aid certification

Understanding of safeguarding requirements for working with children
