A materials technology company is seeking a Workshop Operations Manager to oversee engineering teams and manage manufacturing processes for aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of industrial experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects. TISICS is a small management-owned business with material and processing technology that is of potential future benefit primarily to the Space and Aerospace sectors. The company designs and manufactures net shape metal and continuous silicon carbide fibre reinforced composite components compromising titanium and aluminium alloys. Our advanced materials offer significant advantages both to the Aerospace sector in reducing the weight of platforms for environmental benefit and to the Space sector with rapid growth in communications, climate and planetary exploration applications. The Workshop Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the TISICS team of engineers and technicians who are manufacturing a variety of test samples, simple flat coupons, sub-scale samples and full-scale parts. We produce, assemble and test samples, sub-scale and full-scale components and products for the Aerospace and Space markets based on the TISICS metal matrix composite and fibre technologies. Products include but are not limited to structural components, pressure vessels, and liquid propellant tanks.
The Workshop Operations manager will act as an interface between programme and project managers into fabrication activities to ensure that work across multiple projects is coordinated and appropriately prioritised between the different contracts and deliverables. Where appropriate the role may include direct project management of customer requirements where development work is limited.
The Workshop Operations Manager will manage the workflow, including planning and coordinating all manufacturing activities, processes and operations. The role will include the management of a small team and, ensure that projects are delivered safely, cost-effectively and on-time and that they meet the required quality and customer standards.
TISICS is expanding and will be increasing its facility footprint. It is envisaged that the Workshop Operations Manager will be part of the core team delivering this expansion and the associated planning of facility services, layouts, equipment installation and commissioning with appropriate staff and third parties.
