Looking for flexible, seasonal work where you can help keep your community safe? Join Balfour Beatty as a Winter Maintenance Operative/Driver in Hereford and play a vital role in maintaining safe road conditions during the colder months. This is a zero-hour contract running from October to April, ideal for those seeking flexibility and meaningful work. You’ll be part of our winter response team, operating gritters and assisting with snow clearance to ensure roads remain safe and accessible.

What you'll be doing
  • Drive gritting vehicles and assist with ploughing during severe weather.
  • Carry out winter service duties to high safety and quality standards.
  • Complete vehicle checks and ensure equipment is used effectively.
  • Report safety observations and follow all compliance procedures.
  • Represent Balfour Beatty professionally and deliver excellent customer service.
Who we're looking for
Essential
  • Class 2 Licence
  • CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • Safety-first mindset

Desirable (Training Provided)
  • Plant awareness and manual handling experience
  • First Aid, CSCS, Banksman, NVQ Winter Service, Telehandler
