Job summary

Qualifications

Faculty Overview

Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Welding program provides students with the necessary training to become professional welders. Students will develop the skill and knowledge to work safely and effectively in today’s demanding industrial environment.

Position Overview

The Faculty of Trades and Technology is currently seeking a Non-regular Type 1 Welding Instructor to provide short-term delivery of Apprenticeship Levels 1, 2, and 3, Welding Foundation and/or Levels B and A which may extend from a single day to several weeks.

More information concerning the working conditions for a faculty member are outlined in Article 12 of the Kwantlen Faculty Association (KFA) Collective Agreement.

Qualifications
  • British Columbia Certificate of Qualification with Interprovencial Red Seal Endorsement.
  • Current BC Pipe Welder Pressure Vessel 7 (PWP7) and BC Pipe Welder Pressure Vessel 10 (PWP10) pressure tickets, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience working in the industry as a journeyperson.

Candidates will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check.

Salary Information

Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
