Baillieston Community Care provides essential community-based services to support individuals in maintaining their independence at home and within their communities. These services include private, at-home care for individuals over the age of 16 with disabilities, short breaks for those with dementia and their caregivers, and day services for adults aged 65 and older living with dementia. The organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and their families within the community.

Role Description

This is a volunteer position for the role of a Trustee and Director at Baillieston Community Care. Trustees are responsible for overseeing the governance of the organization, ensuring adherence to its mission, and providing strategic direction. Day-to-day tasks may include attending board meetings, contributing to organizational planning, supporting policy development, and monitoring the charity's performance. As a volunteer role, it requires a commitment to the organization's values and mission. This position is based on-site in the Greater Glasgow Area.

Qualifications
  • Experience in governance, strategic planning, or organizational leadership to guide and oversee the charity's operations effectively.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, community services, or social care, particularly related to supporting individuals with disabilities or dementia.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other Trustees and Directors.
  • Previous experience or willingness to engage in policymaking, fundraising, and ensuring financial sustainability is advantageous.
  • A deep understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Baillieston Community Care.
  • Familiarity with compliance, risk management, or charitable regulations (a plus).
