Overview

Just like Richard Carr-Gomm, Abbeyfield Living Society founder who dedicated his time to combating loneliness in older adults, you can make a lasting impact. Over 60 years later, our mission thrives thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who bring their unique skills and personalities to our houses and homes.

What support and training will I be given?

Hit the ground running with confidence. We provide a comprehensive induction program tailored to your specific volunteer role. This includes all the training and support you need to feel comfortable and empowered to make a difference from day one.

Will I be invited for an interview?

After you apply, we’ll invite you for an informal interview to get to know each other better. It’s a chance for you to learn about the role and for us to see if you’d be a great fit for the team.

Do I need to supply references or undergo a DBS check?

The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority. Our volunteering roles require two references and a DBS check.

Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield.
