Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing, independent practice located just outside Cardiff city centre. This forward‑thinking clinic offers a supportive, collaborative environment where clinical development is encouraged and work‑life balance is genuinely valued.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering first‑opinion veterinary care, managing both medical and surgical cases, and contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.

  • First‑opinion small animal consultations
  • Routine and non‑routine surgical procedures
  • Medical case management
  • Emergency surgery when required

Working closely with colleagues to provide outstanding patient and client care. This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week), with a fair share of weekends and the benefit of a 4‑day working week, supporting a healthy work‑life balance.

About the Ideal Candidate

The practice is looking for a veterinary surgeon who brings enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong clinical foundation.

Essential Criteria
  • Competence in routine small animal medicine and surgery
  • Confidence with emergency surgery (preferred but not essential)

  • £45,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus bonus

  • 5 days paid CPD leave with CPD allowance (certificate support encouraged)
