Join Our Team as a Utility Services Technician!

Overview

Ringway Jacobs offers an exciting opportunity for a Utility Services Technician to join our Construction Team in Cheshire. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Construction Team Leader to plan, support, and deliver high‑quality underground service location activities. You will play a key part in ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with CEH health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to all teams in locating and avoiding underground services.
• Survey and produce simple drawings showing the locations of services for operational use.
• Advise operational teams following surveys, using safe methods for excavations.
• Assist operatives in tracing utility plant.
• Train operatives in the effective use of cable detection equipment, techniques, and public utility plans and drawings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current, valid driving licence essential.
• Experience detecting underground services desirable.
• New Roads and Street works or NHSS 12 training and qualifications highly beneficial.
• Experience with handheld technology (PDAs, smartphones, etc.) advantageous.
• Local knowledge of the county beneficial.
• Working towards Lantra accreditation (Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus).
