Job summary

A healthcare provider is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Technician (Band 4 – 5 progression) to join their team in Ashford. This permanent role involves working within Urgent and Emergency Care, aiming to provide a patient-focused medicines management service. Key responsibilities include completing medication histories, administering medications, and supporting healthcare professionals. Candidates must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have relevant experience. The position offers a salary ranging from £27,485 to £30,162 per year with 37.5 working hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • Experience completing audits.
  • Experience counselling patients on medication.
  • Post‑registration experience in a hospital pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Complete detailed medication histories.
  • Administer intravenous and oral medications.
  • Advise patients on new or changed medications.
  • Support doctors and nurses with medication queries.
  • Participate in discharge planning.

Skills

Excellent communication skills with patients and staff
Ability to work under pressure
Experience of training staff
Strong sense of responsibility

Education

Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician
Medicines Optimisation Programme or equivalent evidence of competence
NVQ in Pharmacy Services level 3
