Job summary

A leading independent technology provider in the UK is seeking a skilled Platform Administrator - Unix to join their team in Nottingham. In this role, you will provide technical support for Unix environments and manage critical infrastructure. Responsibilities include day-to-day Unix administration, project delivery, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position requires SC Clearance or a willingness to undertake it, and strong expertise in RHEL and Oracle Linux is essential. Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Unix administration, especially RHEL & Oracle Linux.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible.
• Experience with high availability systems and replication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality technical support across RHEL and Unix environments.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams for design and implementation.
• Provide technical break/fix support, participating in 24/7 on-call rota.

Skills

Unix administration expertise (RHEL & Oracle Linux)

Familiarity with Ansible

Knowledge of Podman

Experience with Docker

Knowledge of Azure

Experience with high availability systems

Understanding of Oracle middleware

Backup/recovery tools expertise (NetBackup/Veeam)

ITIL v4 understanding

ISO 20000 and ISO 27000 standards familiarity
