Job description

GLL are currently recruiting trainee Swimmingteachers to join us in Islington, all of our SwimmingTeachers are qualified to at least STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming. The STA qualifications are nationally recognised and will give you the skills of how to teach non-swimmers, beginners and improvers.

If you have a passion and talent for Swimming, you could be part of our team of SwimmingTeachers and help give people of all ages a valuable life skill. We are the largest SwimmingSchool in the UK and our continued growth means we are looking to qualify and employ a growing number of SwimmingTeachers. So, if you’d like the opportunity gain the qualifications and training needed to teach people of all ages and abilities how to swim, apply to be a Trainee SwimmingTeacher

Successful applicants will be fully funded to complete their STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming.

We have a range of hours available cross weekdays and weekends.

The next available STA Level 2 Award Course will be run at Ironmonger Row Baths, 1 Norman Street, EC1V3AA on the following dates: 28/02, 1/03, 7/03, 8/03, 14/03 and 15/03.

We are looking for applicants who are:
  • A competent swimmer
  • A good communicator (verbal and non-verbal)
  • A good motivator (supportive and able to give feedback)
  • Approachable and patient in nature
  • Imaginative
  • Will to learn and commit to a 6 day intensive training course
  • Previous experience working with Children is desirable but not essential

Being a Swimming Teacher is really rewarding, as you’ll thrive on supporting people to achieve their potential. Naturally, there’ll be some administration involved, but rest assured that, once qualified, almost all of your time will be spent teaching, working with a range of ages and abilities.

Once qualified, you will be apart of one of our Teaching Teams working with a Lead Teacher to support you in your day to day role.
