Role Overview
Responsibly support Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors in their commercial management duties.
Responsibilities
- Undertake administrative duties to support the team
- Raise pre‑agreed orders
- Review subcontractor matrices
- Manage simpler payments and loading budgets
- Be responsible for at least 3 sites of varying complexity: set up budgets, produce bi‑monthly valuations, appoint subcontractors, maintain close cost control, and enable management decisions
- Process weekly and monthly payments efficiently, resolve disputed items, and provide accurate site financial status
- Help produce site valuations bi‑monthly and present to the Board of Directors, indicating any variation from budgeted figures
- Negotiate optimum rates for subcontract appointments to maximise margins
- Use the Persimmon Group COINS system to set up new sites and establish budgets, predicting site profitability for financial planning verification
- Liaise with other departments (Construction, Sales, Customer Care, Accounts) to ensure efficient site operations
- Comply with the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy, promoting safety on all projects
Qualifications
- Previous construction surveying related experience desirable but not essential
- Full UK driving license advantageous
- Experience within the house building industry desirable
- Understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Familiarity with balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and business plans
