Job description

Looking for a role where you’ll work with big-name brands, manage exciting campaigns, and really make your mark?

We’re Hughes – a family-run business since 1921. We’ve always moved with the times, but we’ve never lost sight of what matters most: people. Now we’re looking for a Trade Marketing Executive to join our team and help us bring supplier campaigns to life across all our channels – online and in-store.

This role is all about building strong relationships with our suppliers and working closely with our internal teams to deliver campaigns that work for everyone – our suppliers, our business, and most importantly, our customers. One day you could be shaping a brand’s presence on our website, the next you might be planning a paid social campaign or reviewing the results of a promotion. If you’re a confident communicator who’s as comfortable with data as you are with people, this could be a perfect fit.

What does the role include?
  • Working with our suppliers to create and run campaigns across paid social, PPC, email, website, affiliates, and in-store.
  • Managing brand pages and supplier visibility on the Hughes website.
  • Building longer-term marketing plans with suppliers – not just one-off promotions.
  • Reporting on campaigns: what ran, how it performed, and what we can learn.
  • Using tools like GA4, Canva and Monday.com to plan, execute, and review campaigns.
  • Working hand-in-hand with our agencies and our ecommerce, CRM, ecommerce, and buying teams to make sure campaigns deliver for everyone.
What Skills and Experience are required?
  • At least 2 years’ marketing experience, ideally in retail, ecommerce, or trade marketing.
  • A great communicator who enjoys building relationships with lots of different people.
  • Comfortable working with data and analytics (GA4 experience is a plus).
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Familiar with tools like Canva and Monday.com (or keen to learn).
  • Someone who enjoys mixing creativity with commercial thinking.
Why us?

Hughes is a family company, with family values that have been trading for over 100 years. We pride ourselves on these values, and our commitment to our staff and customers alike. This commitment and support also extend beyond our store boundaries. We encourage and empower our teams to support good causes in their local communities. We are a company that values our staff and their work/life balance and therefore are happy to discuss flexible working opportunities.

Benefits include
  • An enhanced company pension scheme (subject to eligibility criteria).
  • Generous holiday allowance calculated at 6.6 times your weekly contracted hours.
  • Training and Development programs including fully funded apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Support for community projects.
  • Wellbeing support provided by the Retail Trust which is free to use for all our employees.
  • Healthshield Cash Plan
  • Life Insurance.
  • The opportunity for free use of Company Holiday Lodges.
  • Discounted Gym membership.
  • Recognition for Long Service.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm
