Therapeutic Radiographer Band 6 - Specialist Practitioner

We are looking for a Senior Therapeutic Radiographer to join our friendly multi-professional radiotherapy team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. Torbay delivers a range of techniques, including Lung and Bone SABR and is actively engaged in research with both commercial and non-commercial trials.

You will be joining at an exciting time when we will be going live with SGRT on both our linacs and RT-CT scanner. In addition we are working towards go live of a new electronic patient record which starts at the beginning of April and starting the commissioning of a new Treatment Planning System.

You will be joining our caring, committed, and innovative team in beautiful South Devon.

Main duties of the job
  • You will work as part of a team on the linear accelerators providing safe and accurate radiotherapy treatment. The post holder will also rotate through pre‑treatment to include RT‑CT and pre‑treatment data entry.
  • You will provide safe and accurate radiotherapy planning and treatment to patients to a broad range of tumour sites.
  • You will support the team leader in the day‑to‑day management of patient workflow, assisting in the organisation and management of the clinical workload.
  • You will work flexibly as the service demands.
  • You will provide exceptional patient care at all time.
About us

We are friendly multi-professional team and staff often comment on the kindness and professionalism of our team.

Our department comprising of two matched VERSA Elekta Linacs, Mosaiq Oncology Management System (recently upgraded), Pinnacle Treatment Planning System (TPS), Limbus AI OAR outlining software and Canon Aquilion CT Scanner.

We have a Support and Information Radiographer, Urology Specialist Radiographer, and a Colorectal/Gynae Specialist Radiographers who are all independent prescribers.

We have been actively involved in the award‑winning late effects service project and in addition have a dedicated research radiographer embedded in the oncology research and development team.

The department actively participates in clinical trials, and we ensure early adoption of changes to standard of care of radiotherapy to allow our local population receive the most current treatment available.

Our exciting plans include commissioning a new treatment planning system and working towards back‑to‑back linac replacements.
